A controversial five-second penalty for Lando Norris saw the McLaren driver lose ground in his pursuit of Max Verstappen, on a day when Charles Leclerc eased to victory in the United States Grand Prix.

There are five races left in the campaign, with a maximum 146 points still available. Norris will have to make an average gain of more than 11 points per race to overhaul Verstappen. It wasn't Shohei Ohtani or Mookie Betts but Tommy Edman who was named NLCS MVP after an all-around team effort from L.A.
