Lando Norris of McLaren ended up finishing behind Max Verstappen at the United States Grand Prix after he landed himself a controversial five-second time penalty

A controversial five-second penalty for Lando Norris saw the McLaren driver lose ground in his pursuit of Max Verstappen, on a day when Charles Leclerc eased to victory in the United States Grand Prix.

There are five races left in the campaign, with a maximum 146 points still available. Norris will have to make an average gain of more than 11 points per race to overhaul Verstappen.
